Rich is a sole practitioner who has handled thousands of legal matters in his forty year career, both civil and criminal, and both in state and federal courts. He received his B.A. degree from UC Davis (with high honors and membership in Phi Beta Kappa) in 1969, his J.D. degree from Harvard Law School in 1972, and was sworn into the State Bar of California in December 1972.
Rich has practiced continuously since being licensed in 1972, first as a legal aid lawyer and deputy public defender, and since 1979, as a private practitioner.
He practices in multiple areas, and does work on both an hourly basis and a contingency basis. Rich’s clients have an experienced, hardworking and honest advocate.
Should you make an appointment to meet with Rich for the first time, you will receive no bill. In fact, Rich discourages a prospective client hiring him during their initial visit. Rich’s preference is for the prospective client to discuss their legal problem during their initial visit; leave his office (without a bill); and then return to his office if the prospective client decides that Rich should be their lawyer.
